Updated Film Reel blogpost

The overall concept behind the order I put my video clips in is progression. I start with the first thing I did in Ecomm and then go through all of my work up to the most recent. For the first few video assignments, I was the editor but for the last few I was the art director. I showed good cinematography by picking out the best clips from each video.  I edited the clips together using fades and cuts that matched the tempo of the song. What I would do the same is to keep them in order of the first project I did to the last one. Because I feel that one of the best ways to show what someone is capable of is the progression they have made throughout the year. What I would do differently is change the length of the later clips because they are too long. The only thing missing from my film reel is the music video that we are working on.

Professional Project Review

For this blog post, we had to review music videos and write a professional review on them. The song I chose is Not Gonna Die by Skillet. the video follows a little girl and her friend which is a lion fighting a 6 headed dragon but they keep getting hurt and knocked down. The video ends with the two outsmarting the dragon instead of overpowering it and they almost die if it wasn't for the buildings that fell on top of it. Even though the video was entirely animated it still uses a few of the principles of filmmaking.  There isn't something new with each edit but there is for most of them. there are a lot of different angles and shot sizes.  There aren't any huge jump cuts. The story is unique to me because the music video is entirely animated which  I think they did very well. One element I would apply to my own work is how well it's edited with the words matching what the singer is saying. One of the things I think it could improve on is the number of running shots
