Video Entertainment semester review

This semester we did so much in video entertainment that really helped me grow as a filmmaker and the roles I like to play when making those films. The very first assignment we had was camera assignment 1 where we had to make a short video about either a PSA, informational video, a music video, or a mini short film. My group decided to make a mini short film that we titled Simply Complex. Simply Complex is a mini short film that revolves around a man named Albert Franklin III, who has a habit of making things way more complicated than they have to be. In it, he goes to a job interview to be a teacher at his local high school, but something terrible happens and franklin is the only one smart enough to stop it. This project took a good couple of weeks to make. We didn't really run into that many problems except for finding a time when a teacher would be available to be used in our film. Along the way, I learned the importance of camera angles because there were a few shots where a

Semester reflection

This semester was pretty good all of the videos we made were pretty good. My favorite two are the short film and the music video even though we didn't finish the music video. My partners for the music video were: Malik Alexander, Lucas Wright, and Jeremiah Henderson. The song we used was Cradles by NCS. We had some trouble with filming because not everyone was able to be at the recording because of work. We did what we could with that problem and got it done, but we couldn't get all the clips we needed. In the short story, I worked with DJ, Malik, Ariana, Caitlyn. The story was about these two teens named Andre and Draymond who were played by Malik and DJ, and they decide to rob a mafia boss for money. Then after they do they get jumped by two goons and taken back to the mob boss named Vinny where he will decide their fate. I was co-director and helped set up some of the shots and Caitlyn and Ariana were the editors. I thought all of the videos we made were good but these two w

In this project we had to make a music video for a song that our teacher approved. It didn't matter if the song had a video or not. My team thought it would be better to do a song that didn't have a video because the expectations for the video wouldn't be as high. This project was pretty difficult to do with the conditions we had. Two of my teammates always had to work and weren't available a-lot. The amount of time we had wasn't bad, but with the schedule problems we had it seemed to cut that time in half. Another big problem we ran into was with the problems we had with scheduling is that we didn't get enough shots so there is a minute of nothing in the video. A couple things that I thought was really good was the idea we had for the video and how we put it into action. The idea we had was a kid with schizophrenia going through a normal school day but one of the symptoms for schizophrenia is hallucination, so while he was going throughout his day he kept thi
